Happy 2007, everyone!

Thought I'd start out the year in a helpful frame of mind... although a lot of bloggers have fallen by the wayside, there have been a few new kids plying their wares... like:

Soundtracks of Doom
Soundtrack Lover's Paradise
80's Movie Soundtracks

to name just a very few... as well as the older standbys still out there working the corner.

So, I'd thought I'd help out on some requested items:

Practical Magic - Michael Nyman
DEAD

The rejected score, here in its entirety... Some of the early pressings of the soundtrack album did include two cuts from the Nyman score, before they were replaced with cuts from Alan Silvestri's replacement score.

Last Man Standing - Elmer Bernstein
DEAD

For the Walter Hill remake of A FISTFUL OF DOLLARS, set in the 1920's... but FISTFUL was a remake of YOJIMBO, set in feudal Japan... which in turn was based on Dashiell Hammett's novel RED HARVEST, set in the 1920's.

Anyway... Bernstein's score was thrown out in favor of music from Hill's usual collaborator, Ry Cooder.

The Addams Family - Marc Shaiman
DEAD

BIG sounding score, lots of fun...

and a repost from a few months ago, which got killed.
