Looking For Richard - Howard Shore

A relatively rare (as of now) score by Howard Shore for Al Pacino's fascinating docudrama.
In the early days pre-LOTR (mid-90's), there was a lot of concern about Howard Shore being hired on to compose music for the film series... sure, Shore had proved himself by doing comedies (1st bandleader on SNL, The Great Years), and thrillers (Se7en, Silence of the Lambs), and was David Cronenberg's composer-of-choice - but did he have what it took to do an epic?

Those who were lucky enough to see LOOKING FOR RICHARD, or to get the score release already knew the answer to that question. And after the success of LOTR, LfR became a much sought after CD.

It's NOT LOTR - but many of the elements that Shore utilized can be found here.

I'm a sucker for the whole 'movie within a movie' genre, so I was one of the 5 people who actually saw this film. Thanks much for the ST.

I've started a blog dedicated to keeping tabs on the various soundtrack blogs around the internet. It's called 'OST Hub', and it would be cool if you agreed to add 'Music-Snob' to the growing list.

Check it out and see what you think.

Thanks again for the great shares!
